Frequently Asked Questions
We recommend you first take a look at our size guide, right here. The most accurate way to determine your size is to take measurements of your Bust, Hips, and Waist. You can do this with a soft measuring tape or a piece of string/ribbon and a measuring tape. If you have no way of measuring, we advise you to cross-compare our size chart and the sizes that you typically shop for. If you are still unsure, please feel welcome to email us at contact@mettamadeinhamilton.ca
We HIGHLY recommend that you wash cold (machine wash, gentle setting) and lay flat or hang to air dry. This will maintain the integrity of the bamboo fabric and ensure it lasts longer.
Bamboo fabric does wrinkle when folded for long periods of time. We recommend that you hang your garments or steaming them to relax any wrinkles. Do NOT iron Bamboo fabric. You may steam your garment with a clothing steamer, or hang your garment in a bathroom and let the steam from a warm shower naturally pull out any wrinkles :)

Metta is a buddhist term translated as “loving-kindness.” Co-Founders Carol Davies and Morgan MacDonald learned of the term while studying Mindful Self-Compassion. They learned of Metta meditation, which is a practice that calls upon an individual to channel loving-kindness, and eternal benevolence towards all other living beings. In the context of Mindful Self-Compassion, one would also practice setting the intention of loving-kindness towards oneself.
We decided on the name METTAMADE because our clothing is designed with loving-kindness of the natural environment and of all human bodies. We produce in small batch and made-to-order to minimize any waste and we design garments that are inclusive of all body types and sizes, with an emphasis on adapting to weight fluctuations and lifestyles (business casual, athleisure, and lounge).
If you are looking for a particular style that is no longer listed on our website, please email us at contact@mettamadeinhamilton and we will add you to the waitlist for when this style is re-released.
